Koyuki Akaimo was the 3rd ruler of the Nekohana Crownlands, before she reformed the nation into the Chayuthayan Empire, as the 1st Empress.

The Chayuthayan Empire was ruled by the Akaimo Monarchy, until it collapsed and Koyuki sailed east, in search of new lands.

After the fall of the Chayuthaya Empire, she would find new land after sailing east, establishing the Akaimo Imperium and expanding her territory. Koyuki would embark on a ten-year journey of exploration and conquest, solidifying her empire’s naval dominance and seeking new opportunities for growth. She has returned to Agiya, to seek her old lands.

Appearance

Koyuki is a kitsune/fox neko, with white hair, blue eyes, and wearing a white/gold kimono. When in battle, she can be seen in strong gold armor, often behind her soldiers.

Early Life

The Akaimo family is incredibly rich, so as a child, Koyuki was gifted and spoiled by her parents for years growing up. Her ascension to the throne at her young age is marred by trauma, when her parents, the previous rulers, were both slain in an unsuccessful coup, organized by the Daimyo clan leader, Payepa Mokushu, of the Mokushu Clan. Since the coup attempt, that clan has now fallen and any former members are often killed on sight.

After the coup attempt, Koyuki was left alone in the world and thrown into the politics of Agiya, and with the weight of the entire nation on her shoulders. She had to cope by locking her emotions behind the eccentric and overly-cheerful personality she displays, and a very harsh lack of empathy. Despite having the power of the entire nation, immense luxuries, and sacred relics, those luxuries often felt hollow, leaving her with a sense of emptiness, isolation, and questioning her own purpose in life, seeking something greater in life, but with no answer.

Rise to power

Koyuki's rise to power started shortly after her ascension to the throne. The Nekohana Crownlands were not always rich and powerful, and after the coup, the territories consisted of the main Akaimo Dynasty, and the Kōhaku clan territories. Through her diplomacy and charisma, the Silvaria providence, a very close city-state, would join the Nekohana Crownlands as a rich and powerful new addition to the nation.

The jungles were full of underdeveloped towns and villages, as well as nations whose power could not match the combined Nekohanan force. Many other lands, such as Belouria, the Liútǎng, Skygrove, the O'lanoris Clan, would join the nation peacefully, substantially increasing the power of the Nekohana Crownlands. Eventually, all of the jungles and cherry blossoms would be fully under control of Koyuki Akaimo, as well as small parts of the deserts.

Expansion of power

Koyuki's influence and power across the Agiyan continent would start out easy, but take a heavy toll on her health and the Nekohana Crownlands later on. Koyuki would eventually reform the Nekohana Crownlands into the Chayuthayan Empire, and relieve some of her duties by reforming the government into a constitutional monarchy. She later would become the founder of, and establish the Southern Agiyan Republic (SAR), a southern alliance which would include many prominent and strong southern nations. Through SAR, Koyuki would establish many trade alliances across Agiya and many allies in the south, and tthe decisions of the alliance would help her gain influence and eventually puppet multiple states, such as Etharium, which fell after an attack by the Kingdom of Oryza.

The attacks between Etharium and the Kingdom of Oryza would lead to a war, in which Koyuki would make the decision to back Etharium. The Kingdom of Madar, a close ally to Oryza, would join the war against the Chayuthayan Empire, but after both Etharium and Oryza fell, the war would end up being between the two stronger superpowers.

Through Koyuki's charismatic and diplomatic skills, she would rally nearly half the Agiyan continent against Madar. Her allies would include Avalon, the Federation of Grog, the United North, Damnation, Etharium, The Order of the Golden Claw, the Velian Republic, Infernus Regnum, the Republic of Cornflower, and many more. The war would begin with the Chayuthayan Empire losing field battles, but after a successful defense in the Siege of Mikoto, the Chayuthayan armies would gain momentum and begin pushing back Madar.

After a successful field battle in the the Battle of the Oakwood Hills, Madar's armies would take defeat after defeat, losing their capital of Varos, which would be sieged and occupied in a swift takeover. The occupation of Hochberg and Oryza would follow quickly after. It would be in the Siege of Oryza, where Koyuki herself would kill the King of Madar with her own hands, Henri, as she would drive the Kagayaki into his neck.

The results of the war would be the annexation of Varos and Hochberg by the Chayuthayan Empire, into a new state of the Chayuthaya, the Republic of Haicyor. Oryza would be given to Avalon. Neither the Chayuthayan Empire or the Kingdom of Madar would be winners of the war, as the Kingdom of Madar would lose all of their homelands, and collapse, while the Chayuthayan Empire would take on heavy debts and fall into an economic recession, but it was through the war that the Chayuthayan Empire would nearly double their land and influence.

Regime

After the fall of the Kingdom of Madar, the Chayuthayan Empire would fall into an economic recession, and murmurs of rebellion and revolution would spread throughout the Empire. Koyuki, believing there to be no other option, would invade neighboring countries, such as Damnation, in hopes to extract the resource rich lands to help her own people. Koyuki would be reduced to constant fear and paranoia of meeting the same gruesome fate as her parents, and would decide to put down any threats against her she could find, and imprison and execute anyone found suspicious by the Crown. Those who she once treated as friends and family, would be imprisoned and executed by her, including notable figures such as Taoma Takuragi and Suzaku Kōhaku.

Fall from Power

As Koyuki would begin acting more on her emotions and out of fear, the Chayuthaya Empire would see nearly 5+ various rebellions/revolutions start. The Crown would attempt to put these movements down, but they would be unsuccessful. After the outside powers would begin opposing the empire, Koyuki would go on one last trip with the Imperial Army, travelling across the territories in her nation, raiding all the cities for riches and military gear, before sailing eastwards in hopes of new land to start anew. It was here that the Chayuthaya Empire would collapse. Mikoto would fall into a state of anarchy, and it was here that raiders would find a transcript of Koyuki's last speech, where she vowed to make a return one day, when Agiya was weak, and when she would plan to unite the Agiyan continent once again.

Impact on Agiya

The unexpected disappearance of Koyuki Akaimo would stun the remnants of the Chayuthaya Empire and the rest of Agiya. As her royal dictatorship teetered on the brink of collapse, instead of facing capture or defeat, Koyuki would vanish without a trace, leaving behind an air of mystery, and her last words to the rest of Agiya: "I will return one day."

The escape would fueld widespread speculation and rumors. Those in Mikoto at the time of her depature would see Koyuki and her most trusted advisors sail eastwards. It's rumored there was another continent east, but the rumors were never confirmed to be true. Regardless of what happened, the idea of her eventual return, has become a powerful symbol—both of hope and fear—depending on one’s perspective.

Return to Agiya

After the fall of the Chayuthaya Empire, she would find new land after sailing east, establishing the Akaimo Imperium and expanding her territory. Koyuki would embark on a ten-year journey of exploration and conquest, solidifying her empire’s naval dominance and seeking new opportunities for growth.

Upon returning to the Agiyan continent at the age of 29, Koyuki found her homeland changed and her subjects looking to her for guidance and strength. She faced the challenge of reconciling her past with her ambitions for the future, striving to be a ruler who embodies both strength and compassion.

Her ultimate goal now, is to return to the Agiyan continent and reclaim her homeland. Not only to re-establish herself as the rightful ruler of the cherry blossoms and jungles, but to expand the reach of the Akaimo Imperium across the various eastern coasts.
