The Chayuthaya-Madarian War, also known as The Etharium War or the Barbarian Invasion (by the defenders) is an ongoing conflict primarily between the Kingdom of Etharium, the Chayuthayan Empire, and the Kingdom of Madar.
The war began when members of Orzya (now part of Madar) raided the neutral city of Etharium. A moderator among the defense believed that this was illegal and killed one of the attackers, causing a diplomatic incident (In reality, the rules were ambigous on the subject and neither party was in the wrong). This sparked a diplomatic incident which culminated in Madar officially declaring war on Etharium.
The Nekohana Crownlands (Now known as Chayuthaya) had an existing pact to defend against any invasions by Herman-lead nations, and so joined the defense alongside Etharium. Some Nekohanan allies also joined the defense, but the SAR alliance as a whole remained neutral.
After this, Madar and Orzya began rapidly raiding and killing citizens of defender towns (with some minor victories on both sides), leading to a counter-raid on Varos with the goal of killing some of their members. This raid was largely successful, with all but 1 of the raiders successfully escaping after acquiring gear from the Varosians. Soon after, Madar began their march south, wiping out a large defensive army stationed near the Southern Divide Mountains en route. However, Madar was pushed back at the Nekohanan Capital of Mikoto after losing most of their army.
